After Kratos defeated Ares in the previous God of War, his revenge on the Gods for what they have done to him was not going to end here. His final mission in this enduring tale is now to kill the God of Gods, Zeus! The “Ghost of Sparta” is willing to sweep everything which stands in his way. Like they say, ‘revenge is a dish best served cold’. This will not be an easy quest at all since other Gods will do everything to keep Kratos away from Zeus. God of War III is the grand finale to a massive trilogy.

As a lot of you gamers already know, God of War is one of the most brutal games ever made. No wonder why this game is rated 18 and over since you will be able to tear a warrior in half, pull out a cyclops’ eye ball and even rip off Helios’ head and use it as a lantern in dark areas. The level of gore in this game is outstanding and this truly matches the Greek mythology. Don’t expect this third game to be a new and different game than its predecessors. It is simply bigger and better.

A lot of blood will be shed.

The story of God of War III is well prepared. It isn’t difficult to follow and it’s quite straight forward. Apart from that, the game varies from different modes. You can find yourself in a puzzle situation or in a chaotic battle or even in a heavy 1-on-1 battle. The structure of the game is quite small, in fact the story goes round the same places but since along the way new weapons and items are acquired you will still be looking forward to advance and perform different actions.

The graphics of this game are extremely detailed especially the weapons used, the creatures encountered and even the background scenarios. Even though this level of detail is not consistent throughout the whole game, God of War III will surely lie among the best looking games of all time in your heart. These visuals are really exposed and esteemed in the boss fights. You will remain stunned when you will see the textures which are used in the boss fights and this will help you even more to get into the game and imagine that you really are the God of War. Also very interesting in these boss fights are that each and every one of them is unique and split in a number of sequences. You shall be talking a lot about your favorite 1-on-1 battle of the game.

Boss fights will leave you in awe.

Combat is the main focus of God of War III. In fact there are a lot of different creatures which you will meet as you proceed through. Of course, you will not just defeat these creatures but you will kill them in style like ripping off a Medusa head, slashing a Centaur’s belly and much more. The number of combos that you can perform is awesome and apart from attacking you can also block your enemies’ attacks. This is very important especially when you encounter a large amount of enemies in which you will need to perform a ‘wide-range’ attack to keep them at bay. These are just undersized creatures because the fun really starts in boss fights. You will really feel the power of Kratos after you crush a God in a gruesome and brutal manner. Also an improvement on the previous titles, God of War III now has more effective weapons, each having their special abilities and powers.

This game is a must have, especially for all those gamers who like splashing blood all over the place. God of War III includes excellent visuals, great story and epic fights. The fun gets better and better by time and progress. As a bonus, this game offers some fun and exciting challenges which are not linked to the main story. Apart from that, this can be played in Chaos (very hard difficulty) which believe me, it’s nearly impossible to beat. But this is what makes God of War a success, a hard and massively brutal quest which ends a great trilogy.
