Red Dead Redemption is going to be a western action adventure game and it will use the open world gameplay as in the Grand Theft Auto games. The game will focus on John Marston, a former outlaw in America in the year 1908. His main objective will be to kill his former gang members and eventually assassinate the gang’s leader Bill Williamson. It is Red Dead Revolver’s successor, and the game is due for release on May 18, 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

Most of the time the game consists of gunfights and the player will be able to fight and fire in various ways. You will be able to free aim, shoot a specific target, blindfire and also slide to take cover. Shooting will not always have the same reaction. This means that depending on which body part you’ll hit the enemy, he will react accordingly. A good number of weapons shall be available to choose from such as revolvers, shotguns, semi-automatic pistols, cannons, knives and rifles. This combat system in Red Dead Redemption shall be in third person mode.

The protagonist of the game, John Marston, will have a special ability in gunfights. This will be the Dead-Eye targeting system whereby you can slow down the game to fire accurate shots once the Dead-Eye bar is filled up. Once the targets are set, John Marston will fire the equipped weapon quickly to finish off his enemies. Red Dead Redemption will have an Honor system in which you will be able to make choices throughout the game that affect your ‘honor’ (making you honorable or dishonorable). The game shall be released on May 18, 2010. Watch the video below in HD to realize that Red Dead Redemption is a game to look out for.
