Preview: God of War III

Developer: Sony Computer Entertainment
Genre: Action Adventure
Platform(s): PlayStation 3
Release Date: March, 2010
Official Website: http://www.godofwar.com/

God of War III is the fifth and final chapter from the God of War series. Chronologically this latest installment will take place after God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War, God of War: Betrayal and God of War II. Kratos is expected to be back in God of War III in March of the coming year. This game will be exclusive for the PlayStation 3 console and it was revealed that it is going to run at full 1080p HD resolution. God of War III will also support vibration function. Initially the Sixaxis function was also going to be supported but it was later removed because developers “could not find a suitable situation to use Sixaxis in the game effectively”.

The events of God of War III will take place after those of God of War II where we will see Kratos eager for revenge on the gods. Our protagonist will be in the middle of a battle between the gods and the titans which will explain the end of Greek mythology. Even though at the end of God of War II Kratos was holding the Blade of Olympus, till now this blade hasn’t featured in any trailer or screenshots.

Regarding gameplay God of War III shall be similar to previous installments, only with some improved aspects. Kratos will now have some new combos apart from the usual ones and the number of enemies on-screen has been increased from 15 to 50. This will give a much better and more satisfying action adventure game as well as giving more flexibility to Kratos and his whereabouts. New weapons should also be available but till now only the usual Blades of Athena and the Cestus have been confirmed. Watch the game demo below which was released at E3 2009 and you will see that the final chapter from the God of War series shall be a massive one.

Expectations are High High
